Successful rebuild of the VariFlex winder for Papierfabrik Adolf Jass Schwarza GmbH

Jagenberg Paper Systems has successfully rebuilt the VariFlex winder behind the PM1 at the Adolf Jass Schwarza GmbH paper mill. This paper machine produces high-quality corrugated base paper.

The existing machine control was replaced by a powerful and future-oriented new control. In addition, the existing Jagmatic process visualization (HMI) was exchanged for WinCC and the new OS and ES were implemented as virtual machines. An interface to the higher-level production system was set up. Jagenberg Paper Systems GmbH took over the entire software and hardware engineering, component and spare parts delivery as well as assembly, commissioning and production support. This retrofit made it possible to increase operator and machine efficiency and the customer Jass continues to consistently pursue its philosophy of using the latest technologies along the entire process chain. This guarantees a high level of availability, as this winder is the only one to follow the paper machine.

During the same shutdown, Jagenberg Paper Systems GmbH replaced numerous mechanical spare parts on the machine.
